In the quiet solitude of my studio, I drift into my painting...with the CBC softly playing...in the soothing genius of ancient soul-filled notes... my dog sleeping peacefully at my feet...I begin to explore and paint and enter a most glorious dimension that I wish all the world could experience on their own. A most serene time, where colours reveal themseleves to me...where I can see light and reflections that I've never witnessed before. This is the atmosphere I work in...where time passes unknown to me...this hallowed space...my studio.

The subjects I choose to paint, may seem varied to the observer...but I tell you this...I see only shape and colour and not subject. I am drawn, ususally to light and certain refractions of light and how I may be able to best portray it. Be it landscape, flowers or people...it is the shape and colour I see. A patch of cerulean blue...butted up to a patch of cobalt violet...and how each colour plays off the other.

My journey continues...with time being a most precious commodity...on it's own twisting path...gathering insight...curiosity and knowledge as I go...I will stay the course...true to my own vision...as I see it.
